RiverSpirit456 wrote a journal talking about how she had first got into the Warriors series and asked her watchers what their stories were. I haven't been posting anything at all lately, and I haven't been writing lately
either, and so this I thought might be good for me xD
Okay here we go ~
Sixth grade, October 7th. It was my 12th birthday, and I had invited a few of my closer friends over for a small party; my parents had never been big on me inviting a bunch of people over at one time. We spent most of the time outside: playing in the woods, petting the handful of neighborhood stray cats we came across, and walking down to the flower shop down the road. I still remember someone messing around and us having a water fight in front of the store. Ah, the days before my addiction to the computer.
Once we returned from our water fight we got towels and decided we wanted to open presents before cake (no big surprise there). I can't remember everything that I got for that certain birthday, but I remember getting a small grey wolf figurine that reminded me of the main character of an original story I had been writing. I had been amazed that my friend had gotten me a wolf so similar to my character, even when she hadn't read, or even known about the story. I would never share something that personal with them until it was finished.
I set the small wolf down with a grin on my face as my next friend handed me her present. She was my closest friend at the time (though today she's a stranger to me). I unwrapped the present, and was surprised to see a book I'd never heard of before: Warriors The Power of Three: The Sight. I had told them I had liked animal stories, like Chronicles of Ancient Darkness: Wolf Brother, but I hadn't ever read a story with the main characters speaking or had them be the main point of view through the whole story.
"I haven't ever read it, but people told me it's good. You like cats, right?" she asked hopefully. I hadn't given them a list to go off of; I've always been horrible with birthday lists. I smiled and nodded.
"Yea, and it sounds good from the description. Thank you!"
I started reading it after they had left the next day, and I was really confused at first. I had no idea that there were two whole sets of books to read before that one. It was a gift, and my first Warriors book. I ended up really liking it, and I got the next book. Later I realized I was out of order and started getting the earlier books as they came into our school library. Overall, I read everything really out of order other than the last two sets of Warriors books.
I still haven't finished a single book from the New Prophecy series, or read one of the books from the last series, or read any of the side books apart from Scourge's..
I got a deviantart around this time and started drawing characters from the books with a mouse because I was a very uncreative child, and this gave me something to draw. According to my profile, I made a new account about two years ago and decided to keep drawing their characters, and even make my own
who I never really pay attention to anymore <:c So, in a way, Warriors helped me to get started here on DeviantArt, and with art in general. Sixth grade was the year I really actually tried when I drew. It wasn't just doodling anymore.
So yep. That's my story of how I got into it. Short and simple ~
I haven't read a warriors book in like a year or two xD I've been drawing humans now more than cats, so that's why I haven't been posting anything really xD
I hope you all have a wonderful day ~
